PACE - Perceived Accessibility Experience

The PACE (Perceived Accessibility Experience) project aims to assess the perception of accessibility by residents of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, to help understand which accessibility improvements are most important to residents and how they can be implemented effectively.

About the project

PACE is a research project developed by the UrbinLab research group of CIAUD (Research Centre in Architecture, Urbanism and Design) of the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of Lisbon, by a team dedicated to the study of accessibility and urban mobility.

The project seeks to contribute to a better understanding of perceived accessibility by combining scientific research, critical analysis and accessible knowledge production.

Main objectives

Investigate

Analyse perceived accessibility using a rigorous and interdisciplinary scientific approach, drawing on the PAC - Perceived Accessibility Scale.

Understand

Identify how residents perceive their accessibility conditions to key destinations.

Disseminate

Share results with the academic community, partner institutions and interested audiences.

Methodology

The project uses a quantitative methodology based on the PAC - Perceived Accessibility Scale, which allows the assessment of how residents perceive accessibility in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area.
